WNC Partners with Chi Po-lin Foundation for Fifth Year of Environmental Education

Hsinchu, Taiwan, July 17, 2026 — To advance environmental education, WNC Corporation (WNC) has partnered with the Chi Po-lin Foundation to host an environmental photography camp for the fifth consecutive year. The camp guided children on visits to ecological sites, encouraging them to tell environmental stories through photography and raising their awareness of environmental protection by exploring nature. This year’s camp concluded today. WNC’s Chief Sustainability Officer Molly Lin said, “Sustainability is not just about corporate low-carbon transitions, but about deeply rooting care for society in our next generation. WNC hopes to foster children’s ability to observe and understand nature, as well as express their ideas. This is how the spirit of sustainability can blossom in their hearts.” To provide a richer learning experience, this year, WNC invited employees and interns from National Taiwan Ocean University and Fu Jen Catholic University to serve as volunteers. The camp welcomed a total of 23 children, including eight from the Hsinchu Jen-Ai Children’s Home.

The camp featured field trips to the Xiangshan Wetlands and the Shuilian Cave Trail in Hsinchu. During the event, children learned video planning and basic post-production techniques, working in groups to gather footage. In addition, a professional smartphone photographer taught the children how to capture both static and moving subjects using different focal lengths, composition, and lighting. At the end of the camp, all participants presented their creative works. One of the children from Hsinchu Jen-Ai Children’s Home shared, “Learning from nature and taking photos instead of sitting in a classroom is an experience unlike any I’ve had before.” As the courses progressed, many children who were initially shy actively participated in activities and expressed themselves.

Another highlight of this year’s camp was the integration with WNC Classroom, an initiative that has been promoting science education in schools for many years. Four volunteers leveraged puzzle-solving activities to teach children the concepts and applications of wireless communications, stimulating their interest in science. Through this, the children also learned how science and sustainability are mutually dependent. Wan Kuan-li, Director of the Chi Po-lin Foundation, said, “I’d like to extend my gratitude to WNC for supporting this summer camp from the very beginning. This camp has enabled the foundation to bring its program to Hsinchu, guiding children to learn from nature, record what they see, and share those moments with their families. This will, in turn, translate into concrete actions to protect the environment.”
